Encapsulated In Goodness and Grace

Good morning, Mama-Friend,

Today is going to be a great day! Were you stressed this week? Did that stress show up in your back, your gut, or maybe your head? Stress and tension typically show up in my back or arms.

I have good news: we can release all stress and receive the gift that God has for us today.

Last night, I began reading through notes I had jotted down on a reflection page in my Faith & Focus Planner. I want to share them with you, trusting they will be a springboard for you to walk in even greater victory today. Before we begin, I want to thank two sister-friends, Anita and Lisa, who shared these truths with me:

  • I can stop my “doings.”
  • God is my powerful strength.
  • My weakness is a gift that allows God’s power to be released.
  • He wants me to rest because He is fighting my battles.
  • My loved ones with unique needs are healed. The victory is won!
  • He wants to detach me from words that are ill-packaged, ungodly, and from the wrong spirit. (This was huge for me!)
  • Greater obedience is following Him in the moment.
  • I am encapsulated in His goodness and grace.

I am encapsulated in His goodness and grace.

I love the image of being wrapped in the arms of my loving Father—His goodness and His grace surrounding me completely. This image brings me such joy.

It reminds me of the garments of praise (Isaiah 6) and the armor of God (Ephesians 6), not the heavy, rigid armor I once imagined. That kind of armor felt burdensome—too heavy to carry and too restrictive to move in. Instead, I now picture something entirely different: armor that is beautiful, radiant, and alive with the Holy Spirit—flowing from within and shining without.

Imagine this with me … You and I being adorned with each of these elements, alive with power and authority:

  • A beautiful white gown (Garments of Praise)
  • A dazzling royal crown (Helmet of Salvation)
  • Elegant diamonds seamlessly woven into the top of the gown (Breastplate of Righteousness)
  • Bold, gleaming gold bangles (Sword of the Spirit) … Think Wonder Woman — for my younger audience, go Google her! 😄
  • A breathtaking, sparkling jeweled sash at the waist (Belt of Truth)
  • Magnificently jeweled anklets (Feet Shod with Peace)
  • A radiant, individualized light surrounding you completely—impenetrable (Shield of Faith — my favorite)

“And I will be to her a wall of fire all around, declares the Lord, and I will be the glory in her midst.” — Zechariah 2:5 ESV

Friend, whether we are nurturing a loved one with unique or neurodivergent needs, making a tough decision, or walking into the unknown, this armor surrounds each of us—encapsulating us in His goodness and grace. It provides comfort, protection, security, and even joy.

We can stop striving, release stress, detach from ungodly words, and walk in victory—because God’s got us.

Today, no matter what you are facing, take a moment to pause and pray:

“Lord, You are the glory within me and the fire all around me. I stop my striving, detach from ungodly words, and walk in victory today.”

In Jesus Name, Amen.

Mama-friend, you are seen. You are loved.

There is a great cloud of witnesses cheering you on—and so am I.

Cheering you on,
